PAIGE'S FOOD NOTES

15 March 1999 - Around 10 p.m., Jim and I went to dinner in a local restaurant about five minutes from the hotel. I drank a big draft Heineken (no local beer) and Jim had a small shot of vodka. We both ate salads with tomatoes, cucumbers and onions. I had beef filet with cheese and raisins on top, which I did not like at all. The rice garnish, cooked in a beef broth, was delicious. Jim ate every mouthful of a very mild tasting fish. Our server was 19 years old and focused so intently on us. The young man, with blond slicked-back hair wearing a tuxedo, knew a little English and tried his best to serve us well. When we left, I told him he was most attentive and very good at his job. Then, he helped me with my coat and bag.
